The Churches Together include the Catholics, Anglicans and Methodists of Wadhurst, Stonegate and Tidebrook.
The CTIW Forum is made up of the clergy and representatives from each church and has a constitution setting out its aims. Initially the emphasis was on getting to know each other, but now CTIW is better described as a network of communication between all the churches. This allows us to support each other in our Christian lives and to take part in many combined activities and services.
Acting together, the churches respond to the needs of the local community. Specifically, CTIW organise
- Lenten Study Groups
- Maundy Thursday/Good Friday Procession of Witness
- Songs of Praise with the Brass Band
- Harvest Lunch
- Advent and Christmas Carol Services
- Christian Unity Week of Prayer and Services
- Monthly Sunday Evening Services
However, there are many other areas that have an ecumenical dimension such as the Christian work of Carillon Cottage in the heart of Wadhurst High Street.
Also included are home Bible Study groups, prayer meetings, prayers to see the New year in, the Women’s World Day of Prayer, ecumenical choir, and various social events where all are welcome.
Details of what is going on with regards to CTIW can be found in Focus Magazine each month
