Going into HospitalIf you are going into hospital or have a relative taken to hospital, you must inform the Chaplaincy or Nurse at the hospital that you are a Catholic.

You may also ring St Augustine’s RC Church to inform them.

The hospitals covered by St Augustine’s are:

  • The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury
  • The Nuffield, Fordcombe Bupa Hospital
  • Hospice in the Weald

Priests, deacons, sisters and lay workers (special Ministers for Holy Communion) regularly visit these hospitals.

Because of the Data Protection Act, it is your duty to pass on information about your faith (either on behalf of yourself as a patient or care of a relative) to the Hospital Chaplain or to the nurse in charge. The hospital will not automatically do this for you.
